Kidscape recognised with Safeguarding Standards Award
We are thrilled to share that Kidscape has been awarded the national Safeguarding Standards Award, recognising our commitment to creating safer places.
The process involved an intense nine-month audit and charity assessment involving all stakeholders, including young people, parents and carers, schools, volunteers, ambassadors, associates, trustees and staff.
As a team, we’re incredibly proud of the award. It evidences our passion for safeguarding children and adults and will certify our commitment to creating safer places for all those who experience Kidscape. Our hope is that the award highlights Kidscape as a beacon of support to all.

The Safeguarding Standards Awards is a first-of-its-kind accreditation scheme for safeguarding launched by the safeguarding charity Thirtyone:eight, enabling UK-based organisations to independently verify and evidence their commitment to creating safer places for all.
The Safeguarding Standards Award aims to raise standards across the sector, through an innovative national quality assessment and benchmark that defines what effective safeguarding practice looks like and encourages ongoing development and review.
In order to gain the award, the assessment was incredibly thorough. We were independently assessed against 10 Safeguarding Standards, including governance, culture, policy and responding to concerns.
The assessment provided valuable insight into our safeguarding practices. It helped us to identify our current strengths and areas where we can improve to further embed safeguarding within Kidscape’s culture and identity.
The Chair of Trustees at Kidscape, Ian Joseph, said he was proud of the Kidscape team.
“They have dedicated themselves to ensuring that safeguarding is at the front and centre of our approach,” he said. “The Safeguarding Standards Award recognises this desire and earnest commitment.”
Jason Tait, Trustee at Kidscape, is the Director of Pastoral Care and Designated Safeguarding Lead at TASIS school.
“The recognition that Kidscape has received through being awarded the National Safeguarding Standards Award is a testimony to the dedication and commitment of the entire charity,” he said. “From the Board level through our operational teams and our volunteers, Kidscape strives to ensure that we safeguard the young people, children, and families with whom we work.”
